Support Falcons City SC chess programs for children and youth through after-school programs, group classes, workshops, tournaments, camps, and special events.
How You Will Help
Falcons City SC is seeking Chess Coaches and Instructors to support our chess programs for children and youth. Coaches may assist with after-school programs, group classes, workshops, tournaments, camps, and special events. We welcome instructors with different levels of experience, including experienced chess coaches, tournament players, teachers, college students, and strong chess players who enjoy working with young students.
Falcons City SC is a nonprofit sports club dedicated to youth development, sports access, fitness, education, leadership, and community impact. We provide programs through soccer, basketball, volleyball, chess, fitness, after-school activities, camps, clinics, tournaments, and community events.
Expectations
Time commitment may vary depending on program needs, instructor availability, and seasonal schedules. Evening and weekend availability is a plus.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for chess instructors who are reliable, patient, professional, and passionate about teaching youth. Ideal candidates may have experience in chess instruction, competitive chess, youth education, after-school programs, camps or enrichment programs, tournament support, or curriculum and lesson planning.

What We Are Looking For
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or assist youth chess sessions
- Teach chess fundamentals, rules, strategy, tactics, and sportsmanship
- Support beginner, intermediate, and advanced students
- Help students develop focus, patience, confidence, and problem-solving skills
- Assist with chess games, puzzles, lessons, and tournament activities
- Help create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, staff, and program managers
- Support Falcons City SC chess programs, camps, clinics, and community events
Ideal Qualifications
- Chess playing or teaching experience preferred
- Experience working with children or youth preferred
- Strong communication and teaching skills
- Reliable attendance and professional attitude
- Tournament experience is a plus
- US Chess experience or rating is a plus
- Background check may be required for youth-facing roles
